What Is Pilates?.....

Pilates is a form of exercise which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on the “core”.

Part of the Pilates method focuses on the mind-body connection. Its teachs you to be constantly aware of the way your body moves. Pilates was created in the 1920’s by a physical trainer named Joseph Pilates for the purpose of rehabilitation. Some of the first people he helped were soldiers returning from war and dancers; he helped to strengthen their bodies and heal their aches and pains.

Because Pilates can be modified to provide either a gentle strength training program or a challenging workout, it is suitable for both beginners and for those who already exercise regularly.
