Common Weight Loss Mistakes

EXCESSIVE EXERCISE

Exercise is a very important part of fat loss; however, one common mistake is exercising extensively at the start of your plan.  You need to ease yourself in gently.  Slowly increase your activity over a number of weeks until it becomes a habit.  If you are new to exercise, think about upping your daily step count and perhaps working out in the gym twice a week. After a few weeks up that to three times a week and so on.

EATING THE WRONG FOODS

Remember the saying “you can’t out run a bad diet”.  Well, its true my friends. To truly lose fat you need to look at what you’re eating. If what you are eating now is not helping you reach your goals, then you need to change it up. Educate yourself on what foods will help you achieve your desired outcome.

NOT ENOUGH WATER

Drinking enough water actually aids in speeding up your fat loss process. Being water-deprived will lead you to eat more food automatically, as your body thinks its hungry when in fact it’s very thirsty and in need of hydration. Your body requires a certain amount of water every day to ensure the smooth function of all organs. Water also helps in boosting your energy levels, building muscle strength, and aids in increasing the rate of your metabolism.

LACK OF SLEEP

One thing that we always ignore is sleep. Not getting enough sleeping can severely impact your weight loss journey. Sleep gives your body the required energy to function efficiently. When you haven’t had enough sleep, your body has to work in a stressed state, and because you have a lack of energy you end up consuming unhealthy snacks which in turn store fat in your body. Consistently sleeping for 6-8 hours every night will significantly help you on your fat loss journey.

ADAPTING THE RIGHT MINDSET

Adapting the right mindset to your fat loss journey is absolutely key. Why is it you want to lose fat, improve your fitness, and become a healthier person?  Know your why, set yourself a goal and go for it!

These mistakes all seem very simple to rectify, but for many people they just don’t know how.
